About Us
Rupert and Maria moved to Midsomer House in 1993, a small holding which expanded over the years. Alfie their son was born in 2000 and now helps out with the Lodges in his spare time when home from University studying Business. The holiday lodge development was always in Ruperts’ long term plan for the farm, giving people the opportunity to relax and enjoy their fabulous setting.
About the lodges
All our Lodges were manufactured in the UK by Prestige Homes. We visited the factory on numerous occasions and were suitably impressed with the lodge designs to suit our unique luxury development. The high quality of build and service were second to none and the attention to detail was outstanding. Prestige were able to accommodate all of our requests in making these homes tailored to our specifications and high standards. Our hot tubs are made by Rotaspa, the UK’s only manufacturer and are heated using air sourced heat pumps as they are the most energy efficient method of water heating and helping the environment at the same time.
All of the Decking was supplied by the Mayfield Group who produce products made from 99% recycled UPVC and by adding this to their low carbon emission outputs means they are leading the way in producing and supplying decking for a more sustainable planet. Our Recycling Stable Block hosts all the recycling bins to cover all the waste from the Lodges along with a hot dog wash after long country walks along with a boot wash outside. Our lawns, flower beds and trees were designed by our fabulous designer and gardener extraordinaire Dide Lucas along with our very great friend Deb Ashman.
All the lodges are Open Plan with kitchen, living, dining area and patio doors leading out to the decking where you can relax in the sunken hot tub enjoying the magnificent views. They all have a well equipped kitchen which includes a gas hob, oven, microwave oven, tassimo coffee machine, fridge freezer, wine fridge, washer/drier and dishwasher. All lodges are supplied with bed linen (beds made up) and towels. All bedrooms have en-suite shower rooms, flat screen tv’s with freeview. The living area have sofas, electric fire and large flat screen tv with surround system all beautifully furnished.
Wifi is available in all lodges. All lodges are key-safe entry and a electric sliding gate at the entrance to the site. Codes will be emailed prior to arrival.
PET FRIENDLY is only available in EXMOOR VIEW.

Situated just outside of Shepton Mallet, close to the spiritual town of Glastonbury, Cheddar Gorge, the Cities of Wells, Bath & Bristol along with the Mendip Hills, an area of outstanding Natural Beauty. Midsomer Lodges is the ideal spot to explore all of what Somerset and the West Country has to offer.
If you like shopping, visit Clarks Village Retail Outlet in Street close by and the famous Kilver Court Designer Village Outlet and Gardens, also the home of the famous brand Mulberry.
